Being a small woman (barely 5”1), I really appreciate how there are always a number of women to train with in class. The higher belts are happy to roll with you and give you pointers. Coach Emily, Brad and Ryan do a fantastic job fostering an environment where you can learn great Jiu Jitsu in a friendly, relaxed setting.

The community is amazing, Professors Emily & Brad are amazing, and the wrist locks are free! I’ve got two of my kids in the kids program and they’re always excited to go! I joined Tried & True knowing nothing about bjj, but the teaching style of all the coaches has always been clear and easy to follow. From my first class, I have always felt welcome and quickly knew it was where I belong.

The boys loved it but moved on to other sports. Supportive coaches, welcoming environment and quality instruction. All of the coaches are excellent and there is a diverse array of training partners to roll with. The vibe is chill, safe, and accepting of people from all walks of life. I would recommend Tried and True to anyone looking to start or continue their jiu jitsu journey. Whether you want to compete or just start a new hobby you’ll find a place here. There are also a lot of women in every class, so if you’re looking for a less male-dominated gym to train BJJ this is the place for you!
